This position does not involve managing a team but requires strong communication skills and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals. The Senior PHP Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing RESTful APIs, maintaining existing codebases, addressing performance bottlenecks, and utilizing best practices in software design patterns and dependency management. The role demands a commitment to continuous learning and keeping up with the latest trends in PHP and web technologies to deliver high-quality applications that meet business needs.
Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend code using PHP in line with project requirements and timelines.
Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
Manage and optimize MySQL databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
Utilize modern PHP frameworks and follow software design patterns to build maintainable and efficient applications.
Employ version control tools such as Git for source code management and collaboration.
Apply Composer to manage PHP project dependencies efficiently and ensure consistent builds.
Optimize application performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing caching or code improvements.
Work within Agile development teams participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Integrate continuous integration and deployment pipelines to streamline delivery and reduce errors.
Collaborate closely with front-end developers to define API contracts and data exchange formats like JSON.
Document API endpoints using appropriate API documentation tools and maintain technical documentation for internal use.
Conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards and foster a culture of clean coding practices.
Stay current with PHP frameworks, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve code quality and application performance.
